1. RELATIONSHIP OFFICER – RETAIL, MBARARA BRANCH

    REPORTING TO: GROUP HEAD RETAIL

Purpose of the Position:

The job holder will be charged with managing relationships with existing customers and actively creating a market for the bank's products and services in order to increase the bank’s market share. The successful candidate will be required to present the bank’s products/services to prospects and existing customers based on identified needs

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To secure funds designated as collateral for credit facilities.
  • To organise, review and manage the processing of overdraft facilities to customers.
  • To promptly resolve problems with cheques drawn on the bank’s customers.
  • To make customer’s invested funds available on request and to re-invest customer’s funds on request.
  • To execute foreign currency transactions based on customer’s request.
  • To process customers’ ‘Stop payment’ instructions, requests, and other service requests.
  • To handle all exceptions and discretionary requests for pricing, loan rates, foreign exchange rates, waivers for fees in order to enhance customer satisfaction and retention
  • To initiate the issuance of local guarantees and performance bonds based on customer’s request.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR RELATIONSHIP OFFICER

  • 1-2 years work experience will be an added advantage
  • A university degree
  • Credit analysis, due diligence and underwriting skills
  • Experience in preparation of a formal credit proposal,
  • Market awareness and demonstration of practical selling knowledge and skills
  • Exceptional client relationship management skills
  • Understanding/management of customer, product and market risks
  • Understanding of risk management and mitigation techniques
  • Interpersonal skills (team player, good communication and time management skills)
  • Understanding of varied product solutions required within the bank’s customer base and ability to recommend new products for development in relation to customer feedback
  • Understanding and interpretation of financials
A self-starter and ability to work with very minimal supervision


2. POSITION: FINANCE OFFICER

    REPORTING TO: FINANCE MANAGER
Purpose of position:

The job holder will be charged with the compilation and review of monthly management and regulatory reports for accuracy, quality control and completeness and ensure the same is completed within the stipulated deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures that monthly, final and management accounts are presented with accuracy and on time.

• Maintenance of the fixed assets register and ensure compliance with the fixed assets policy.

• Daily and consistent review of the trial balance with particular emphasis on income/expense ledgers.

• Computes and remits taxes to Government authorities i.e. VAT,

Pay as you earn (PAYE), Excise Duty and National Social Security Fund (NSSF) on a monthly basis.

• Accurately prepare Bank of Uganda returns and ensuring these are accurate and submitted in line with the prudential guidelines.

• Review of LPO/Invoices to ensure accuracy and in line with the budget provisions.

• Participates and compiles operational Budgets, and ensures that final expenditures do not exceed the Budget.

• Liaising with regulators and auditors during risk based examination of the Bank.

• To assist with reviewing Policies related to the Finance department.

Desired knowledge, skills and abilities set:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
• ACCA/CPA Part Qualification - at least Level II

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience preferably gained in the financial services industry.

• Team player with excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.

• Computer literate with working/hands knowledge of Oracle based applications, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
